- The Death and Life of Great American Cities, by Jane Jacobs (Jonathan Cape 1961/1962; 1st edition, 1st UK printing), is one of the most influential critiques of modern city planning. The text is in English. The book is illustrated with a couple of schematic black-and-white drawings. Our copy is in good condition. There are a few pencil underlines on the pages, but in general, there are no markings, except for the previous owner’s signature on the first flyleaf. The binding is fine. The covers show some signs of use and exposure to sunlight, especially around the spine.
